Well, it’s that time of year again. We held our first meeting of the season and all are really looking forward to a GREAT snowmobiling year.
We began trail work on Sunday September 30th and will be continuing it every Sunday from October 14th until the snow flies or until we are done. If you can help us out any Sunday (or many!), we would appreciate any help you can give us. Please meet at the Meredith McDonald’s at 8:00 AM. If you have any appropriate tools, such as chain saws, hatchets, etc., please bring them along. It would be great to see some new faces helping out this year. Last year, we had a very good group of people helping out with several new people. Remember, we are working on the trails YOU enjoy riding on. PLEASE come out and help at least once. We all like to ride and should be willing to help make the trails the best they can be. We have a couple of bigger projects to do to enable our groomer and drag to get through. We are also looking for anyone who has a tractor with a brush hog to do some work along Route 104. If anyone knows of one we can use, please call Hank at 279-8629.
Hank met with the Conservation Committee. We may be doing some work in conjection with them this fall on the area off Bonney Shores Road. More info to follow as it comes.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be NO SNOWMOBILE traffic through the Meredith Village Savings Bank property this year. There will be a change in the route off the lake in order to get to the gas stations, but the exact route is still to be determined. Stay tuned for more information.
Also, the Town of Meredith is looking for Zoning Board members. If anyone is interested, please call the Town Hall.
We did well selling sno-cones at the Meredith Arts and Crafts fair in August. Thanks to all the members who helped out. It was great to see some new faces helping out. Everyone always has such a great time, even if it does rain.
We will be holding our fall Chicken Barbeque/meeting on Saturday, October 20th at Oak Hill Golf Course. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert. There will be a cash bar. We will also be having a brown-bag auction. Bring an item in a brown paper bag (can be new, used, useful, fun – use your imagination!) If anyone has any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at suemagnuson@metrocast.net or call me at 387-1919. We really hope to see a good turn-out. It’s is a great time to meet some new people and maybe find some new riding partners.
HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE SOON. AND WISH FOR LOTS OF SNOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
