November 11, 2009 meeting: Present – Rhonda Henault, Jef Fagnant, Todd Andrews, Tom Joslin, Norm McGuigan, Sue Magnuson

Trail Report: Trail work is coming along well. We have had several weeks with really good turnouts. We have been able to really widen out some areas of the trail which will make it much easier for our groomer to do its work. Thanks to all of the members who have been showing up for the trail work. It is great to see a lot of new faces helping out – we really appreciate everyone’s help. Norm McGuigan attended the Groomer Training this past weekend and will be added to our very fine crew of groomers. We will have to do some work on one of the bridges along Route 104. Some beavers have decided to build a dam by the bridge and have also chewed a whole in the middle of the bridge. As soon as the State can trap the beavers and remove their dam, we will be able to fix the bridge. We are also planning on putting up more and larger signs on the trails this year.

We will be putting up the fence around the ball field on Saturday, November 28th at 8:00 AM. Anyone who can help us out for a couple of hours will be welcome and appreciated. The more people, the quicker it gets done!

Rhonda is working on setting up new vendors who will be selling our memberships along with registering snow machines: Meredith Center Store, New Hampton Auto, AJ’s Bait Shop, and hopefully still Laconia Harley Davidson in Meredith.

Fundraisers: The fundraising calendars will be ready for sale by the Christmas Party. We will be doing them for the month of February this year. If you would like to get some to buy or sell, please let Rhonda know. Calendars are $5.00 each and drawings will be held during the month of February. For anyone who is not familiar with this fundraiser, calendars are printed with a monetary amount on each date. A winner is drawn for each date from all the people who purchase a calendar. Winners will be posted on our website at www.sno-streakers.com. All winners’ names go back into the drawing, so you are eligible to win multiple times. Anyone who is interested in purchasing and/or selling calendars, please let Rhonda know via e-mail at goodnsparky@metrocast.net

We have also discussed selling hot dogs, cocoa and coffee at the Fishing Derby this year. We discussed a couple of possible locations and will be deciding at the December meeting/Christmas Party.

REMINDER: We will also be voting on the revised By-Laws at the December meeting/Christmas Party. If you will not be able to attend the party, please send in your proxy vote, so that we can include you in the vote.

We also have the Super Raffle tickets available. They are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. The prizes this year are a 2010 Arctic Cat Sno Pro 500 snowmobile, a 2009 Ski-Doo MX Z 550X snowmobile, a $1,000.00 gas card from Irving Oil Company, and a $500.00 gas card from Irving Oil Company. (Winner will select the prize of their choice in the order drawn from those remaining). If you are interested in any raffle tickets, please include a note and payment along with your membership form, and I will send them to you. All tickets need to be in to our club no later than Feb. 1, 2010 so that we can get the ticket stubs to the State in time for the drawing on Feb 7th.

Our annual Christmas party will be held on Saturday, December 12th at Oak Hill Golf Course at 159 Pease Road in Meredith. It will begin at 6:00 pm. This will be a potluck dinner, so please bring an appetizer, main dish, side dish, or dessert, and BYOB. There will also be a Yankee Swap, so each person attending should bring a wrapped gift. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend – it is always a great time! If anyone has any questions or needs directions, please feel free to e-mail me at suemagnuson@metrocast.net or call me at 387-1919. We really hope to have a good turn-out. It’s a great time to meet some new people and maybe find some new riding partners.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL SOON AT THE CHRISTMAS PARTY AND ON THE TRAILS!
