SNO-STREAKERS TRAIL REPORTS |
| March | Important - we will be removing the bridge decks on Saturday, March 17. If you can help out for a couple of hours, please meet at the Winona Trestle at 8:00 am |
| February 7th | Sorry - still nothing to report - The trail crews worked very hard and did an awesome job getting trails ready, building new bridges, re-routing trails to keep them open - we just haven't gotten the snow. We currently have about 2 inches of frozen crust on the ground with rocks and roots showing and the lakes are still unpredictable and unsafe from the odd temperature swings that we have had all season. Derby weekend is next week and a real safety concern on the big lakes. |
| January 2012 | We will be putting out the bridge decks for the snowmobile trail Sunday Jan. 8th. If you can help out, please meet at the Winona trestle at 8:00 am |

November 2011 |
Trail Report: Trail work is coming along. We haven’t had great turnouts, but the guys who have shown up are making progress. Thanks to all of the members who have been showing up for the trail work – we really appreciate your help! Todd is almost done with the re-routes that we have had to do. The Drake Road re-route is still being worked on. As soon as Todd works out all of the details, we will let you know. We will be putting up signs to help riders with the changes. Please keep your eyes out for these signs and stay on the new trails. We still need to get a couple bridges finished up before the snow flies. Also, the new bridge in New Hampton has floated and turned. We will need to move it back and anchor it somehow. We will be putting up the fence around the ball field on Saturday, November 26th at 8:00 AM. Anyone who can help us out for a couple of hours will be welcome and appreciated. The more people, the quicker it gets done! |
| September 2011 | Trailmaster’s Report - Todd will be meeting with a few more landowners along our trail system, so that we can resolve any problems they may be having in a timely manner. We began trail work on Sunday Sept.19th, and will be continuing it every Sunday (except for the Sunday of Columbus Day Weekend) until the snow flies or until we are done. If you can help us out any Sunday (or many!), we would appreciate any help you can give us. Please meet at the Meredith McDonald’s at 8:00 AM. If you have any appropriate tools, such as chain saws, loping shears, etc., please bring them along. It would be great to see some new faces helping out this year. PLEASE try to come out and help at least once. We all like to ride and should be willing to help make the trails the best they can be. We have been approved for some grant money for some fall projects, one of which involves repairing the bridge that the beavers destroyed. If you have any questions or want more information on the trail work, please e-mail Todd at 1toddco@msn.com. |
| FALL 2011 | We will begin snowmobile trail maintenance work on Sunday, September 18, 2011. We will be meeting every Sunday until the work is complete, so if you can help out at some point for a few hours, it is much appreciated. Please meet at the Meredith McDonalds at 8:00 AM, and we will give out work assignments. If you have any appropriate tools, please bring them. If you have any questions, please e-mail Todd at 1toddco@msn.com or call him at 279-4715. Reminder, we will have our first meeting of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 14th at the Meredith Center Fire Station. |
